As you know, I am rather passionate about movies. I have always been, and although I view a lot of movies with a rather high water mark of expectations, I feel that when a movie breaks through and captures my imagination, it really has accomplished something. I tend to rate movies into a rather tidy scale. Its not as easy as a star scale, because there are some 5 star movies that don't make my top lists and some apparent "dogs" that somehow manage to squeak out that extra credit for the effort. Therefore, I have them broken down as follows. Take a look at some of the movies that have made the list in recent times:
-
Movie Blunders
- The Pantheon of Movies These are the ones that I will go out of my way to view again and again.
- Approaching Perfection Pretty much ones that will make any rainy day special.
- The Defensible are memorable, and although may not be worth the mulitple viewings, still have a little something special.
- Pleasant Surprise There are not a lot of these, but they are ones that really get no "love" from anyone and mostly fall through the cracks of the movie viewing population. Yet, somehow I managed to view one of these and get a kick out of it.
- Disappointment These were movies, usually with a bloated budget that just came up limp. This type of movie is really the worst on the list because of how far they fall from expectations.
- The All Time Worst Avoid these like
the plague or if you feel particularly masochistic, by all means suffer through
them. Be don't tell me that noone warned you.
Published Reviews
Here's a chance to check out a few movies before you rent or buy them. I am not saying that my reviews are perfect but I attempt to provide a good reason to either watch or avoid movies, a service that I provide for free.
Did you see that? Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade falls victim to some general sloppiness and makes the newest mark on the list. How did they miss these?
